Adult Bible Study Classes
New Beginnings Class The New Beginnings Class is designed for young adults in college or pursuing a career. Dale and Kim Wilson lead this class using Bible Study materials that speak to the unique experiences and challenges facing this age group. The class meets on the second floor of the Education Building.
Young Couples Class This NEW class for young married couples will begin with a study called "The Story" which will take the group through the narrative passages of the Bible. Tom and Loretta Thomas lead this class which meets in the Family Life Center.
Cornerstone Class The Cornerstone Class does not use a set format. The class selects topics from a variety of media focusing on topics of interest for younger adults with children. At times the two teachers, Patsy Thompson and Teressa Ramsey, lead simultaneously smaller groups providing a choice in topics. Recently they lead studies on marriage enrichment and parenting skills. The class meets off the Commons area where coffee and breakfast are served. The Commons area (basement) is in the Education Building.
New Life Class This class is using the Exploring the Bible material from Lifeway.The teacher is Donna Bray. Members are encouraged to ask questions and join in discussion.This class was formed from a New Members group and recently merged with our college and career class.Couples and singles of any age are welcome.They meet in a classroom adjacent to the Commons Area in the basement of the EducationCenter.
Adult Bible Study Adult Bible Study is for the "empty nesters" or soon-t- be "empty nester," made up of couples and singles in the 40s to 50s age range. Exploring the Bible from Lifeway is the study material.This group is taught by Bobby Miller, Mike Hoffman and Jerry Hoffman and they rotate week to week.The class meets in the basement adjacent to the Commons area where coffee and breakfast are served.
Mixed Adults This class was formed many years ago as a couples’ alternative to the separate men and women’s classes, hence the “mixed” in the title.Bill Corum and Tony Allen team teach from Lifeway’s Life Ventures series, and they know how to teach. This is one of our larger classes and the material is geared towards those in retirement but with Tony and Bill’s skills all ages enjoy their teaching.The class is located on the second floor of the Education Building.
WINGS Women Inspiring, Nurturing, Growing, Serving Roxanne Nanney, Minister of Music and Senior Adults, leads this all ladies class.March - September 2012, they will be using "The Story" which walks through all the major stories of the Bible in chronological order. Women of all ages are welcome and they meet in the Conference Room in the Family Life Center.
The Friendship Class
Betty Marcum and Wanda Berry lead this senior women’s Bible
study with the Life Ventures series from Lifeway. A more loving and
welcoming group would be hard to find. These dear ladies have plenty of
life experiences and share a wonderful time of fellowship and Bible study. They
meet on the second floor of the Education Building.
